The Coquettes & Company, under the direction of Mary Mazzetta, is a senior tap dance and entertainment troupe in the greater West Palm Beach area. The group is made up of approximately 25 dancers. One must be at least 55 years old to become a Coquette, but there is no forced retirement. Our oldest active performer is 95 and going strong.
The Coquettes practice twice a week at the North Palm Beach Recreation Center and perform regularly from October through May once or twice every week. Performance venues include independent living centers, assisted living and adult care facilities, as well as several community centers in the Palm Beach County/Treasure Coast area.
A highlight this year is the troupe’s performance at the South Florida Fair on January 26. The dancers are joined by guest singers and musicians, and together they stage a great song and dance revue.
